Profile
How do I change my profile type?
The short answer: no such switch exists — neither in the profile settings nor in the account settings. If you picked the wrong option on the first step of profile creation, the profile has to be created again, by deleting the account and registering anew.
The profile type shapes nearly everything around it. Search filters and compatibility matching depend on it. Verification of a couple profile confirms both partners; a solo profile confirms one person. In messaging, a couple profile chooses whose name a message is sent under. Most importantly, every like and every conversation was addressed to a profile of a specific type: someone who wrote to a solo profile made that decision about a solo profile. A retroactive type switch would leave those connections resting on wrong information. Gramsy is built on everything important being stated honestly before the first message, and this is no exception.
If your type is wrong:
- Want this to go faster? Contact support first, while your account is still active — once you request deletion, support becomes unavailable.
- Delete the account in the account settings — the way to the button is described in "How do I delete my account?". Deletion has a 30-day cancellation window; during that period you can reach us through the contacts page.
- After deletion your email address is freed. Register again and pick the right option on the first profile step: "Personal profile" or "Couple profile".
You lose little by recreating: photos and profile texts go through moderation again in any case, and filling everything in takes a few minutes.
How do I delete my profile?
There is no separate button for deleting a profile. The profile and the account are tied together: each account has one profile, so removing the profile while keeping the account is not possible.
Usually the wish behind the question is a different one: to disappear from view. There is a switch for that. Open your profile editor and go to the "Settings" section — these are the settings of the profile itself, separate from the account settings. Turn off "Profile active": your profile is then hidden from everyone but you, it does not appear in search, and nobody can start a new conversation with you. Nothing is deleted in the process. Photos, texts and conversations stay where they are, and you can switch the profile back on at any time.
If you want your data gone altogether, that happens through account deletion: the profile goes with it. The steps are in "How do I delete my account?".

How do I delete my account?
The delete button sits in your account settings — the account's, not the profile's. Go to your account area, click your account at the bottom of the side menu and choose "Settings" (on a phone the menu opens with the button in the top left corner). On the "Account" tab, scroll to the bottom of the page: there you will find the "Danger zone" section with the "Delete account" button.
Next, the system checks that it is really you. If you have a password set, it asks for it; if you sign in through Google or Telegram and have no password, it sends a six-digit code to your email or Telegram. The code is valid for 15 minutes.
After you confirm, the account enters a 30-day cancellation window. If you change your mind, sign in and press "Cancel deletion": your profile, conversations and settings come back exactly as they were. Once that period is over, the account and its data are erased for good, and the email address is freed up.
If you would rather not wait the 30 days, deletion can be sped up, but it has to be arranged in advance: contact support while your account is still active. Once you request deletion, support becomes unavailable and the only way to reach us is the contacts page.
